The cub reporter

I cut my teeth as a journalist while working for The Varsity, during my college years. The newspaper is the University of Toronto’s largest, student-run, tri-campus publication with a print and digital presence.

I worked there in many roles, starting as copy-editor and going on to reporting and writing opinion/ comment pieces as well as lengthy, unique features. I contributed to both the weekly newspaper and the biannual Varsity Magazine at the time.

I worked there for four years -from September 2014 to February 2018 - and enjoyed every minute of it.

I gained valuable newsroom experience and a deep insight into the print and digital news ecosystems.
